About Us

Our roots are steeped in breakthrough aerosolization technology - which has enabled the development of innovative dry powder inhalation delivery devices. Oriel licensed its initial patented technology related to the use of powder specific fluidization signals, developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by Dr. Tony Hickey, a co-founder who remains as Oriel’s Chief Scientific Officer.

Since inception the company has developed an expanding portfolio of intellectual property covering a range of DPI (dry powder inhaler) platforms. In addition, we have developed IP covering the precise movement of poorly flowing powders for potential industrial applications.  Combining our experience in technology development with a focus on bringing better products to market, Oriel is currently developing respiratory drug products that aim to improve respiratory care.
